What’s New for the latest model?
The most significant change introduced in the all-new model of HiAce 2022 is the new diesel engine. Previous models had a V6 petrol engine, but after just two years in production, Toyota has decided to listen to the customer’s needs and launch a turbo-diesel unit for the upcoming models of HiAce.
The new model of HiAce 2022 incorporates the Toyota Connected Service that has enhanced the safety and security of the vehicle to a much higher level. With that service, the vehicles can automatically place an emergency call to Toyota’s 24/7 emergency call center and give out signals for its location in case of airbag deployment. Whereas one can use these functions manually via the SOS button.
Among the upgraded equipment and functionality, the Toyota HiAce 2022 features a center console storage box with a removable in-box tray, a moveable partition used as a cup holder, and an A4-sized binder rack. Moreover, Toyota has also announced that it will delete color options for the new HiAce 2022, and Toyota is set to sell the new model only in white color;
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Having dropped the V6 petrol engine from the line-up, the HiAce 2022 is available only with one engine. The all-new 2.8-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine gives the van a total power of 130 Kw with a torque of 450 Nm when mated to the standard six-speed torque converter automatic. However, this engine can also be detuned to 420 Nm if you order a six-speed manual in an LWD van. In the case of the HiAce commuter, the power further drops down to 120 Kw with a torque of 420 Nm. Power in all variants of HiAce is sent to the rear wheels.
The Interior and Comfort of the car
The interior of HiAce 2022 has not gone through any kind of alterations. The interior of the new HiAce gives the impression of the strict practicality of the van. Toyota HiAce from the inside has a range of door and storage pockets to manage the paperwork, and to further improve the functionality, Toyota has included a storage box as standard replacing the old console tray.
The front cabin of the all-new model of HiAce now comes with weather-proof floormats along with a roof-mounted antenna that should e carwashes a bit easier.
