The new version of Iriz has some significant changes to the exterior, interior, and mechanicals. The styling changes and additions introduced in the new model of Proton Iriz have boosted the visual appeal of the car, whereas changes made to the interior and infotainment system ensure better comfort and connectivity, retaining the Proton’s driving experience. Proton Iriz, for the first time, is emboldened with the same front fascia as Proton Persona, along with the latest colors in the company’s range. Proton is offering the new Iriz in three different variants giving customers a wide range of available options according to requirement.

What’s New for the Proton Iriz 2022?
The all-new model of Proton Iriz boasts the classic front grille featuring the new round Proton badge and the latest new bumper. The exterior kit of the standard Iriz model includes halogen headlamps and 15-inch wheels. In contrast, the Executive trim also comes with LED daytime running lights, 16-inch wheels, and an aesthetic rear spoiler. Still, the most stylish of the trims is the latest Proton Iriz Active flaunting new stylish LED headlamps equipped with auto on/off and follow me home function.
Proton has installed 200 new parts, 32 different quality improvements, and six performance-improving equipment for the Proton Iriz 2022. The wheel size for the entire lineup of Proton Iriz has gone an inch up. The all-new variant of Iriz has now been completely redesigned to take the form of the SUV-style ACTIVE. This rugged makeover of the Iriz includes cladding of black plastic with silver skid plates on both front and rear bumpers. The lower grille is now sportier than ever with its new silver surrounding and honeycomb mesh.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The three trims of Proton all-new Iriz 2022 are available in the following configuration:
- 3L Standard CVT
- 6L Executive CVT
- 6L Active CVT
The standard variant of Iriz is powered by a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder VVT engine with a maximum power of 95hp AT 5750 rpm and a peak torque of 120 Nm at 400 rpm. The Executive and ACTIVE variants of Proton Iriz are powered by a more robust and bigger 1.6-liter 4-cylinder VVT engine giving a maximum output of 109 hp at 5750 rpm with a peak torque of 105 Nm at 4000 rpm. These variants of Proton Iriz have a Continuous Variable Transmission system and multi-point fuel injection system with a 40-liter fuel tank.
The Interior and Comfort of the car
The interior of the all-new variant has undergone arguably more significant changes featuring a new head unit. The center air vents have been pushed downwards in a more conventional horizontal layout with the hazard light, and door lock controls buttons in the middle. The new variant of Iriz comes for the first time with a full-sized soft-touch item with a storage space armrest.
The ACTIVE variant of Proton Iriz is more luxurious than other variants in the lineup. The leatherette steering wheel with controls for audio and hands-free telephone, ECO mode switch, keyless entry with a push start button, sports pedals, semi leather fabric seats, and a console box makes this variant top of the line.
The furnishing of Iriz retains its trademark black headlining and pillars covered in with black fabric upholstery for the Standard variant. The Executive variant is covered in black faux leather adding in to the quality of interior. The ACTIVE variant has black semi leather seats with a circuit board-like pattern on the fabric portion.

Infotainment and Connectivity
The Executive and ACTIVE variants have an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen that is 1-inch larger than the previous models. While the two displays look similar, the ACTIVE variant has an infotainment system packed with more functions like Geely Key User Interface (GUI) and an eSIM online navigation, music, WIFI, and the “Hi Proton” voice control. Users can now control windows and air-conditioning with their voices.
